The China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences released China's first evaluation standard for traditional Chinese medicine large models in Beijing on May 10, 2025: "Technical and Application Evaluation Methods for Industry-Oriented Large-Scale Pre-Trained Models, Part 12: Traditional Chinese Medicine Large Models."

The standard was jointly drafted by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, MeDomino, and 14 other organizations. It establishes, for the first time, a quantitative evaluation system for large models in the traditional Chinese medicine field. The standard has already provided evaluation support for TCM large models such as "Dayi Jingui" and "Digital Intelligence Bencao."
"Deep artificial intelligence based on large models has already played a major innovative role in medicine and many other industries." Yang Hongjun, Vice President of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, believes that TCM large models are expected to provide strong support for TCM research and clinical application development, promote the digital and automated upgrading of traditional Chinese medicine, and lead high-quality development of the health industry.
