"When I received AstraZeneca's invitation and saw that it was for the Digital Trade Expo, I was especially excited. This is a very good opportunity for exchange," said MeDomino founder Lu Wenqing in an interview.
The second Global Digital Trade Expo opened in Hangzhou on November 23, 2023. On the morning of November 24, AstraZeneca held the Digital Healthcare Conference's Medical Industry Digitalization Forum, and MeDomino was invited to attend.
Lu Wenqing: MeDomino is a digital-intelligence company, so I was especially happy to see the Digital Trade Expo. I also saw many like-minded guests on site and heard many discussions related to digital intelligence in the life sciences industry. I very much look forward to deeper exchanges and further cooperation with everyone.
Host: How do you view AIGC?
Lu Wenqing: From a technical perspective, AIGC is still a baby. In our conversations with many life sciences companies, we can feel that expectations for AIGC are very high. We are also actively exploring it ourselves and have embedded AIGC capabilities into two products.
The first is content management.
We first help enterprises put content from different source channels and in different formats together. But this is like having a storage room at home. If I put everything inside, it becomes hard to find things. You are happy to have a storage room, but then you start worrying that you cannot find anything, especially when you have thousands or tens of thousands of content assets. This problem is inevitable.
So we developed our own system that can automatically tag content, allowing users to find everything through tagging capabilities. Then the next question arises: after finding the content, can we quickly get a summary? Can we quickly get Q&A results based on the content? This is where large models come in, and we have already made relatively successful attempts.

The second is customer insights.
I have found that many pharma and medtech companies spend a large amount of resources on frontline sales during marketing. When the sales team becomes large, people cannot all be at the same level, especially in their ability to judge customers, and it is difficult to improve this quickly.
At that point, the first thing needed is data. Only with deep enough customer insights, such as knowing what customers A, B, C, and D are like and what I should do, can we provide point-to-point guidance, coach frontline colleagues step by step, and help them improve their capabilities.
Also, in sales, building trust is difficult. Trust cannot be built simply by showing up every day. So we also help them solve the problem of how to build relationships.
First, we have sufficiently deep insights. Second, we now have large-model capabilities. In this scenario, we very much look forward to combining multi-agent systems with customer insights to help frontline representatives complete point-to-point work and standardized actions while still achieving personalization.

Host: Do you think AIGC will become the next hit?
Lu Wenqing: The core of a hit is demand.
On one hand, from the external customer perspective, people need to obtain information faster and more accurately.
On the other hand, enterprises need internal efficiency improvement and cost reduction.
I expect AIGC to create more things. This is a process of joint exploration, and we have already made many preparations ourselves, including content, data, and practical agent implementation scenarios.
Digital intelligence is not only AIGC. In this era, digitalization alone can no longer solve real business problems. We are now at the starting point of digital intelligence. MeDomino has enough accumulation and foundation to complete this work. This is exactly what I said in my on-site speech: from knowing to doing.
